My interest in jewelry making originated with beads and bead artistry and grew from there. I love the endless variety of shapes and colors provided by beads, and still enjoy making unique pieces of beaded jewelry. From elegant beads such as Swarovski crystals and pearls, to ethnic African beads, to Czech and German glass beads, to semiprecious stones, the wide spectrum of beads fascinates me. Each bead artist could have the exact same beads to work with and each artist would convey a different individual style and design. I find this notion to be very interesting. From my own perspective, I enjoy creating beaded designs that can simultaneously dress up a pair of jeans and a t-shirt as well as an evening dress or business suit.
